Storytime for preschoolers will be held on Tuesdays at 10:45 am. Books, fingerplays, crafts, and more! Children 2 and under must be accompanied by a guardian.

Read with Barli: Therapy Dog

Come read aloud to a certified therapy dog! Barli will be here from 10:00 am to noon on Saturday, April 5, and from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 16. Call or register online to read to him. Walk-ins welcome!

 

STEAM CLUB EVENTS!

Join us on Fridays at 4:15 pm for fun with science, community partners, and more! Grades K-12.

  • GREAT GORGEOUS GEMSTONES: April 4. Find out how to tumble real gemstones and build geometric shapes with paper.
  • OOBLECK!: April 11. Make your own pet Oobleck with oodles of Oobleck.
  • TIE-DYE: April 18. Get in the Easter spirit with colorful tie-dye and egg dyes.
  • PEEP SCIENCE: April 25. Experiment with marshmallow Peeps! 👀 

 

Youth Chess Club

Interested in playing chess or learning how to play? What about playing while eating doughnuts? Chess enthusiast and library assistant Mason will be here at 5:00 pm on Tuesdays, April 8 and 22 to help any interested youth learn more about the game – and have doughnuts to share!

Earth Day Events

Come celebrate Earth Day on Thursday, April 24 and play with trash! We will make seed bombs to plant outside and create art with recycled trash. Preschoolers (ages 0-5) can join us at 10:45 am; kids in elementary school can join us at 5:00 pm. Activities, snacks, and fun!

 

Teen Science Café: Librarians

Teen Science Café is a free program where teens and STEM experts collaborate on presentations and hands-on activities, led by teens for teens with the help of an adult leader. Join other teens at 3:30 pm on Thursday, April 10, to hear your favorite librarians talk more about working in a library! 

 

Interested in joining BOLT (the Board of Library Teens)? The next meeting will be on Wednesday, April 2 at 4:30 pm. Pick up an application at the library and turn it in at the front desk or bring it to the meeting. Members help with party planning and book selection, and eat snacks! Open to grades 5-12.

 

Teen Clubs

  • Club Club Afterschool: Every day after school from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Enjoy snacks and arts and crafts, work on homework, or just hang out together. Teens can request a special activity on Thursdays. No CCA on April 18!
  • Pride Club: Tuesdays, April 8 and 22 at 4:00 pm. Participants are encouraged to bring an open mind, and be ready to play games. 
  • Cosplay Club: Mondays, April 14 and 28  at 3:30 pm. Meet the cosplay club at Sew Beyond Blessed (101 Church Street) to work on your cosplays and learn more about sewing with local cosplayer and seamstress @elysiandawn.cos
  • Anime Club: Join us from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm on Wednesday, April 23, to watch three episodes of anime chosen by the attendees. Japanese snacks included!
