TUESDAY TALES STORYTIME

Storytime for preschoolers is on Tuesdays at 10:30 am. Books, crafts, fingerplays, and more! Children 2 and under must be accompanied by a guardian.

Read With Barli: Therapy Dog

Come read aloud to a certified therapy dog! Friendly giant Barli will be here from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, November 14. Call, come in, or register online to read to him. Walk-ins welcome!

 

Thanksgiving Contests

Thanksgiving Search: Children can look for fifteen pictures of Thanksgiving items hidden in the children’s area. Find all fifteen and pick your prize! Good luck!

‘Thanksgiving’ Contest for Teens: How many words can you make using the letters in ‘THANKSGIVING’? Pick up an entry form in the teen area, list as many words as you can, and turn it in at the desk for a prize! The teen with the most words will win an additional prize. Good luck!

 

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

New readers ages birth through 5/6 are invited to join in on the fun! This program is a nationwide challenge encouraging parents and caregivers to read aloud to their children. Families read in 100-book segments, with incentives and photographs for every 100 books finished. Participation is free of charge. Library Bingo Night!

Join us at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, November 20 for a night of good old-fashioned Bingo! Prizes  and light refreshments will be included. No need to register; just come ready for a good time! 

STEAM CLUB EVENTS!

Join us Fridays at 4:15 pm for fun with science, community partners, and more! Grades K-12.

  • OCEANS AND AI: Learn more about robots and AI! Brainstorm how they can help in our everyday lives as well as help our environment. After school all month.
  • ZOMBIE SURVIVAL: November 1. How can STEAM help you survive in the grasp of a zombie apocalypse? Featuring info from the CDC and PBS!
  • TECH DAY TOO: November 15. Come play with all kinds of tech!
  • YARRRRRN!: November 22. Make your own yarn crafts with the help of crafter Robin. 

 

Club Club Afterschool 

Club Club is growing! Teens and preteens in grades 5-12 are invited to come to the children’s room between 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm every day after school in November. Enjoy snacks and arts and crafts, work on homework, or just hang out together. Participants can request a special craft or activity on Thursdays. See you after school!

 

Interested in joining BOLT (the Board of Library Teens)? The next meeting will be on Wednesday, November 6 at 4:30 pm. Pick up an application at the library and turn it in at the front desk or bring it to the meeting. Members help with party planning and book selection, and eat snacks! Open to grades 5-12.

 

Teen Clubs

  • Pride Club: Tuesdays, November 5 and 19 at 4:00 pm. LGTBQ+ advocate and community organizer Alyx Kendzierski returns on November 19. Participants are encouraged to bring an open mind, and be ready to play games.
  • Cosplay Club: Wednesday, November 13 at 4:00 pm. Want to make your own costumes or help with others? Join the cosplay club!
  • Anime Club: Join us from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm on Wednesday, November 20, to watch three episodes of anime chosen by the attendees. Snacks included!
