TUESDAY TALES STORYTIME

Storytime for preschoolers is on Tuesdays at 10:45 am. Books, crafts, fingerplays, and more! Children 2 and under must be accompanied by a guardian.

Simply STEAM for Grades K-4

The first two Thursdays of November at 4:15 pm there will be something going on for kids at the library!

  • November 6 First Aid Fun. Learn basic first aid for kids and make your own first aid kit to take home!
  • November 13 Food Science. Come experiment with some favorite Thanksgiving foods! What makes gravy thick? How do you make pie crust dough and make it not stick it to the counter? Answer these questions and more!

 

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

This program is a nationwide challenge encouraging parents and caregivers to read aloud to their children. Families read in 100-book segments, with incentives for every 100 books finished. Participation is free of charge. To learn more, visit our website or http://1000booksbeforekindergarten.org/.

Dav Pilkey Jamboree

Join us to kick off Children’s Book Week on Monday, November 3! Come in anytime that day to celebrate the many books of Dav Pilkey like the Dog Man series, Captain Underpants, and more! Play games, do activities, win a prize!

 

Interested in joining BOLT (Board of Library Teens)? The next meeting will be on Wednesday, November 5 at 4:30 pm. Pick up an application at the library and turn it in at the front desk or bring it to the meeting. Members help with party planning and book selection, and eat snacks! Open to grades 5-12.

 

Youth Chess Club

Kids and teens are invited to join librarian Alonna to learn more about and/or play the game! Join the fun at 4:15 pm on Wednesday, November 12.

 

Teen Clubs

  • Club Club Afterschool for Teens: Every day after school from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Enjoy snacks and arts and crafts, work on homework, or just hang out together.
  • Cosplay Club: Mondays, November 3 and 17 at 3:30 pm. Meet the club at Sew Beyond Blessed (101 Church Street) to learn more about cosplaying and sewing.
  • Prism: Tuesdays, November 4 and 18 at 3:30 pm. Participants are encouraged to bring questions and an open mind, and be ready to play games and talk about your favorite pride reads.
  • Retro Anime Club: Join us from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm on Wednesday, November 19, to watch episodes of older (but great!) anime chosen by the attendees. Japanese snacks included!
