TUESDAY TALES STORYTIME

New time! Storytime for preschoolers will be held just a little later on Tuesdays at 10:45 am. Books, crafts, fingerplays, and more! Children 2 and under must be accompanied by a guardian.

Preschool Valentine Party

Join us at the library between 11:00 am and noon on Friday, February 14 for a special preschool Valentine’s Day Party and storytime! Stories, crafts, sweet treats, and more!

 

Youth Chess Club

Interested in playing chess or learning how to play? What about playing chess while eating doughnuts? Chess enthusiast Jason and library assistant Mason will be here at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, February 12 to help any interested youth learn more about the game – and have doughnuts to share!

 

Read with Barli: Therapy Dog

Come read aloud to a certified therapy dog! Friendly giant Barli will be here from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 19. Call, come in, or register online to read to him. Walk-ins welcome!

 

Take Your Child to the Library Day 

On the first Saturday in February, libraries across the world celebrate Take Your Child to the Library Day. Children and families are invited to visit the library on February 1 anytime between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. We will have engaging activities and crafts set up open-house style, with refreshments and a storytime at noon! Participants get small prizes for each station they visit, and the giant dinosaur from the children’s area will be raffled off to one lucky winner! An adult gift basket will also be raffled off to an attendee. Both raffles will be at 1:30 pm; winners do not  need to be present. Teen Early Valentine’s Day Party

Not in a relationship? Or just don’t care about all that romance stuff? Club Club Afterschool on Wednesday, February 5 will be a Valentine’s Day party that’s about celebrating friendship instead of romance – and sweets! Everyone is welcome, single or not. Registration is not required. Grades 5-12. FREE!

 

Interested in joining BOLT (the Board of Library Teens)? The next meeting will be on Wednesday, February 5 at 4:30 pm. Pick up an application at the library and turn it in at the front desk or bring it to the meeting. Members help with party planning and book selection, and eat snacks! Open to grades 5-12.

 

STEAM CLUB EVENTS!

Join us Fridays at 4:15 pm for fun with science, community partners, and more! Grades K-12.

  • MATH BINGO: February 7. Play Math Bingo, win prizes! 
  • COSMETIC CHEMISTRY: February 14. Experiment with LaJAshley’s Little Science Lab Kit to make Botanical Hair and Body Mist. Perfect for gifts!
  • ART START: February 21. Experiment with all kinds of different art mediums. 
  • SMART CITY ADVENTURE: February 28. Try DriveOhio’s challenge to design a city of the future.

 

Teen Clubs

  • Club Club Afterschool: Every day after school from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Enjoy snacks and arts and crafts, work on homework, or just hang out together. Teens can request a special activity on Thursdays.
  • Pride Club: Tuesdays, February 11 and 25 at 4:00 pm. Participants are encouraged to bring an open mind, and be ready to play games. 
  • Cosplay Club: Wednesdays, February 19 and 26 at 3:30 pm. Meet the cosplay club at Sew Beyond Blessed (101 Church Street) to work on your costumes and learn more about sewing with local seamstress and cosplayer @elysiandawn.cos
  • Anime Club: Join us from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm on Wednesday, February 12, to watch three episodes of anime chosen by the attendees. Snacks included!
