Board Report At the Monday, November 17 Swanton Library Board of Trustees meeting, Trustees: - Trustees discussed the upcoming 2026 budget.
- The interior lighting project will begin in December; in January some days the library will open at noon to accommodate the work. Exterior lighting will also be added.
- Computers will begin being updated in December.
- A 3D printing policy was approved; once procedures are finalized, patrons will be able to request projects.
- Pay ranges were updated for staff; a library technician position was created to accurately reflect some staff responsibilities.
- Two staff were trained as notaries; once their certification is finalized, the public can request this service.
- The next meeting is at 6:30 pm on Monday, December 15. The public is welcome to attend.

Bring any book you have read or are reading to discuss.
- Book Discussion Club: Join the library book club on Monday, December 15 at 6:00 pm to discuss Skipping Christmas by John Grisham. Copies are available at the front desk.
Gretchen’s Book Club: The local book club will meet again next month at 5:30 pm on January 8. The title, 11/22/63 by Stephen King, is available at the front desk for anyone who wants to get an early start on reading.
| Cardmaking classes with Anna Geis will resume in January! Ongoing Opportunities - Chair Yoga – Mondays at 4:30 pm. Physical therapist Dawn Seigneur will lead a class in chair yoga. Classes are $5.00 per person.
- D&D Workshop – Tuesdays, December 2 and 30 at 4:30 pm. Work on character creation, miniature painting, and more.
- Dungeons & Dragons Club – Tuesdays, December 9, 16, and 23 at 4:30 pm. Please bring a fifth edition third-level character sheet if possible. New players, please register online.
- Color Me Calm – Tuesday, December 9 at 1:30 pm. Adults, please come and color your stress away while listening to music and enjoying coffee or tea. All supplies provided.
- Fiber Arts Fiends – Wednesdays, December 3 and 17 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Fiber artists of all levels are invited to join.
- Writers’ Group – Thursdays, December 4 and 18 at 6:00 pm. Join freelance author Nathan Jacobs and other writers to discuss your work. All skill levels welcome!
- Seam Rippers Sewing Club – The Seam Rippers will meet again in January. Check January’s newsletter or our website for the date.
- Bible Study – Wednesdays at 12:30 pm. Adults are welcome to join.
- ChessNuts – Wednesdays at 5:00 pm. Adults of all skill levels welcome to play chess.
- Swanton Historical Society – Fridays at 10:00 am. Anyone interested in volunteering or joining is welcome!
