Board Report
At the Monday, October 20 Swanton Public Library Board of Trustees meeting:
- The interior lighting project will begin in December.
- Trustees adopted an internet filtering policy that will be implemented soon.
- Trustees adopted a policy for 3D printing; 3D printing for the public will begin after procedures have been finalized.
- Trustees updated pay ranges for staff and discussed performance evaluations.
- The next regular Board of Trustees meeting is scheduled for 6:30 pm on Monday, November 17. The public is welcome to attend.

Sunshine Bell Choir
Thursday, December 4 at 2:00 pm
Celebrate beautiful music and the holidays with the Sunshine Bell Choir! In 2012, the choir was established to celebrate the unique talents and abilities of every individual involved. This choir is just one of the many initiatives under the umbrella of Sunshine Communities, which aims to create an inclusive environment for all.
Adult Book Clubs
- Sara’s Book Club: Saturdays, November 1, 15, and 29 at 10:30 am. Bring any book you have read or are reading to discuss.
- Gretchen’s Book Club: Join the local book club at 5:30 pm on Thursday, November 13 to discuss The Best of Me by Nicholas Sparks. Copies are available at the front desk.
- Book Discussion Club: Join the library book club at 6:00 pm on Monday, November 17 to discuss Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout. Copies are available at the front desk.

Ongoing Opportunities
- Chair Yoga – Mondays at 4:30 pm. Physical therapist Dawn Seigneur will be here on Mondays at 4:30 pm to lead a class in chair yoga. Classes are $5.00 per person. Registration is not required.
- Dungeons & Dragons Club – Tuesdays at 4:30 pm. Either join in a magical adventure or a workshop. Please bring a 5th edition third-level character sheet if possible. New players, please register online.
- Fiber Arts Fiends – Wednesday, November 12 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Fiber artists of all levels invited to join!
- Writers’ Group – Thursday, November 6 at 6:00 pm. Join freelance author Nathan Jacobs and other writers to discuss your work. All skill levels welcome!
- Seam Rippers Sewing Group – Wednesday, November 12 from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm. Bring your current sewing project. Packed lunches are welcome!
- ChessNuts – Wednesdays at 5:00 pm. Want to play chess with other enthusiasts? Adults of all skill levels welcome.
- Swanton Historical Society – Fridays at 10:00 am. Anyone interested in volunteering or joining is welcome!
