Board Report At the Monday, May 18 Swanton Public Library Board of Trustees meeting, trustees: - Updated the library’s personnel policies.
- Saw a presentation for insurance renewal.
- Discussed the possibility of library staff going to the middle school 2-3 times a week for afterschool programming.
- A strategic planning survey, to help the library with serving the community’s needs, should be in the mail. Links to the survey can also be found at the library.
- The next regular Board of Trustees meeting is scheduled for 6:30 pm on Monday, June 15. A special meeting will be at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, June 3. The public is welcome to attend both meetings.

- Book Discussion Club: Join the library book club on Monday, June 15 at 6:00 pm to discuss Ella Minnow Pea by Mark Dunn.
Scavenger Hunt for All Ages
Explore outside to find the items and do the activities on the scavenger hunt worksheet. Teams get certificates from Burger King and an entry into a drawing for a Movie Night Pack! Good luck! Classes are $5.00 per person.
- Color Me Calm – NEW DAY! Monday, June 15 at 1:30 pm. Adults, please come and color your stress away while listening to music and enjoying coffee or tea. All supplies provided.
- Dungeons & Dragons Club – Tuesdays, June 2, 9, 22, and 30 at 4:30 pm. Bring a fifth edition third-level character sheet if possible. New players, register on our website’s calendar.
- D&D Workshop – Tuesday, June 16 at 4:30 pm. Work on character creation, miniature painting, and more.
- Mahjong Mania – Tuesdays at 2:00 pm and Wednesdays at 6:00 pm. Join others at the library to play this fun game! Beginners are invited to register for a class on June 2 at 1:00 pm to learn the game. Call or visit our website to register.
- Seam Rippers Sewing Club – Wednesday, June 17 from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm. Bring your current sewing project. Packed lunches welcome!
- Fiber Arts Fiends – Wednesdays, June 10 and 24 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Fiber artists of all levels invited!
- ChessNuts – Wednesdays at 5:00 pm. Adults of all skill levels are welcome to play chess.
- Library Bingo Night – Thursday, June 11 at 6:00 pm. Join us at the library for a night of good old-fashioned Bingo! Prizes and light refreshments will be included.
- Writers’ Group – Thursdays, June 11 and 25 at 6:00 pm. This group is for writers at every stage of their journey to gather, create, and connect. We welcome all genres, styles, and levels of literary mastery. Simply bring yourself and the willingness to start writing!
- Swanton Historical Society – Fridays at 10:00 am. Anyone who would like to volunteer or join, ask questions, or just chat is welcome!
