  • Final Teen Party: Lock-In – Everyone who finishes the reading or attends a program will be invited to an after-hours lock-in party at the library for extra prizes, pizza, and fun! More details in the invitation.
  • Diamond Art – Pick up the kit while at the library. “Paint” as much as you like and turn it in when done.

ALL AGES

  • Family Art Hub Wednesdays at 11:00 am. All ages are invited to experiment with many different styles of art every week! Nate Miller from the Bob Ross school will demonstrate at the last Art Hub on July 23. 
  • Time Travel with Art Thursdays at 2:30 pm. Explore different time periods through making art.  
  • Steam Club Fridays at 4:15 pm. Play with robots, learn 3D printing, create all kinds of art, make seed bombs, meet community partners, and more! 
  • Dog Parade Show & Tell Mondays, July 7 & 21 at 1:00 pm. Bring your dog to walk around the park and show off! You can also dress up your dog in a costume! Dogs must be on leash and be dog-friendly. 
  • The Art of Animal Camouflage with Nature’s Nursery Thursday, July 10 at 1:00 pm. Meet three LIVE local animals and explore how some animals use camouflage. 
  • Tie-Dye: Color Your Clothes Monday, July 14 at 11:00 am. Use tie-dye and fabric markers to make one t-shirt and a pair of socks. Please pre-register with your shirt and sock sizes. Bandannas also available to decorate! 
  • Chalk Our Walk Thursday, July 17 at 12:00 pm. Use sidewalk chalk to decorate outside the library! Lunch provided by Tano’s Pizza. Rain date July 24.
  • Downtown Block Parties Saturdays, July 19 & August 16 at 6:00 pm. SPL will be on Zeiter Way near McQuades with yard games! 
  • Family Storytime Monday, July 28 at 2:00 pm. All ages storytime! Books, games, music, crayon art, and more. 

STORYTIME & BOOK CLUB KITS

Grab one of our virtual do-it-at-home storytime or book club kits for all ages. Included: a free copy of the book and activities that tie into it. We will have posts on www.splyouth.org for anyone who wants to discuss the books or comment on the questions or activities. Supplies are limited, so grab one ASAP!

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Congratulations to Reagan, who read 300 books! This program, a challenge encouraging caregivers to read aloud to their children, is freely available to all families with children between birth and 5-6 years.
