YOUTH BOOK CLUBS

Check out our do-it-at-home book clubs for all ages. All we ask is that you read the book: do as much or as little of the rest of it as you want. No matter how much you do, the book is yours!

There are four age categories: grades K-3, grades 3-5, grades 5-8, and grades 9-12. Every book comes with links to explore, a review form, a few questions, and some activities that tie into the book. We will have posts on www.splyouth.org for anyone who wants to discuss the books or comment on the questions or activities. Supplies are limited, so grab yours today!

Grades K-3: National Geographic Kids: Dinosaurs by Kathleen Weidner Zoehfeld

Anime For Big Kids

At 5:30 pm on Tuesday, April 23, adults (and older teens) are invited to enjoy anime that’s more at their level – and popcorn! This month check out the horror hit Attack on Titan. Many years ago, the last remnants of humanity were forced to retreat behind the walls of a fortified city to escape the massive, man-eating Titans that roam the land outside their fortress. 

 

April Movie Nights

Family Movie Night: Craving movie-theater-style popcorn? All ages are invited to the library at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, April 17 to watch the classic animated film Charlotte’s Web. After learning that a young pig’s days are numbered, a literate spider weaves an elaborate plan to save her friend. 

Adult Movie Discussion: The group is taking on the comedy-drama Licorice Pizza at 5:00 pm on Monday, April 22. Set in 1973, the film follows the relationship between a teen actor and a directionless young woman. All adults are welcome; no registration is needed.
