TUESDAY TALES STORYTIME

Storytime for preschoolers is held on Tuesdays at 10:30 am. Books, crafts, fingerplays, and more! Children 2 and under must be accompanied by a guardian.

Read with Barli: Therapy Dog

Come read aloud to a certified therapy dog! Friendly giant Barli will be here from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 12. Call, come in, or register online to read to him. Walk-ins welcome!

Favorite Gift Show & Tell

Families are invited to join us at 1:00 pm on Monday, December 16 for a Favorite Gift Show & Tell. Bring in a treasured gift, a favorite toy or piece of clothing, or even something you want to gift to someone else! Craft and snack time to follow.

Holiday Contests for Kids

• Candy Contest: During December, kids can look for a jar full of holiday candy in the children’s area. Come the closest to guessing the correct number without going over and win the candy! Enter as many times as you’d like. A random drawing will take place in case of a tie. 
• Christmas Trivia for Teens: Pick up a contest entry in the teen area and submit at the front desk for a prize!

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

New readers ages birth through 5/6 are invited to join in on the fun! This program is a nationwide challenge encouraging parents and caregivers to read aloud to their children. Families read in 100-book segments, with incentives and photographs for every 100 books finished. Participation is free of charge. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library

Did you know? Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio mails kids one book each month till their 5th birthday! All kids in Ohio are eligible and this program is available at no cost to families. Learn more and enroll at https://www.ohioimaginationlibrary.org/.

Teen Holiday Party 

Come party for the holidays this month! Show up at the library between 3:30 pm and 5:00 pm on Wednesday, December 18 and celebrate the solstice, Christmas, New Year’s, and more. Play games, decorate candy houses, make scratch ornaments, and enjoy cider and other snacks. Free! No registration necessary. Grades 5-12.

STEAM CLUB EVENTS!

Join us Fridays at 4:15 pm for fun with science, community partners, and more! Grades K-12.

• CAREER EXPLORER: December 6. Use Ohio’s jobs website to learn more about different careers. 
• THE BUILD GUILD: December 13. Come play with all kinds of building toys like LEGO® and more!
• ART DAY: December 20. Experiment with all kinds of different art mediums. 
• No meeting on December 27. See you next year!

Teen Clubs

• Pride Club: Tuesdays, December 3 and 17 at 4:00 pm. This month, meet Sugar Vermonte, owner of the mac n’ cheese food truck Maybe Cheese Born With It, to talk about owning a business and her experiences filming The Great Food Truck Race for Food Network! • Anime Club: Join us from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm on Wednesday, December 11, to watch three episodes of anime chosen by the attendees. Snacks included! 
• Cosplay Club: Thursday, December 12 at 4:00 pm. Come make your own costumes or help with others! 

Interested in joining BOLT (the Board of Library Teens)? The next meeting will be on Wednesday, December 4 at 4:30 pm. Pick up an application at the library and turn it in at the front desk or bring it to the meeting. Members help with party planning and book selection, and eat snacks! Open to grades 5-12.

Club Club Afterschool 

Teens and preteens in grades 5-12 are invited to come to the children’s room between 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm every day after school in December. Enjoy snacks and arts and crafts, work on homework, or just hang out together. Participants can request a special craft or activity on Thursdays. See you after school!
