December In-Person Storytimes

  • Merry DinosaurTuesday, December 6 at 10:30 am. How do dinosaurs celebrate the holidays? Come find out, and make your own dinosaur ornament to take home!
  • Holiday GiftsTuesday, December 13 at 10:30 am. Celebrate the gifts of the season and make one of your own to take home.
  • Holiday Countdown Tuesday, December 20 at 10:30 am. The winter holidays are upon us! Come celebrate at the library and make your own countdown gift!
  • No storytime on Tuesday, December 27; enjoy the holidays! – We’ll see everyone back at the library in January!

 

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Congratulations to Wesley, who finished 600 books! This program, a nationwide challenge encouraging caregivers to read aloud to their children, is freely available to all families with children between birth and 5-6 years, with prizes and incentives for every 100 books read. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library

Did you know? Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio mails kids one book each month till their 5th birthday! All kids in Ohio are eligible and this program is available at no cost to families. Learn more and enroll at ohioimaginationlibrary.org/.

Anime Club

Join us from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm on Wednesday, December 14, to watch three episodes of anime chosen by the attendees. Snacks and Japanese Christmas cake (sponge cake with strawberries and whipped cream) provided! No registration required. Grades 5-12. Free!

 

Interested in joining BOLT (Board of Library Teens)? Come to the meeting at 4:30 pm on Wednesday, December 7. Help with book selection and planning events, and eat snacks! Grades 5-12.

 

Youth Chess & Games Club – Join librarian and chess player Jason on Mondays, December 5 and 19 at 4:00 pm, to learn more about the game of chess, or any board or card game available in the library! This club is open to all interested youth.

 

Holiday Candy Contests

During December, kids and teens can look for a jar full of holiday candy in their respective areas. Come the closest to guessing the correct number without going over and win the jar! A random drawing will take place in case of a tie. 

 

Dungeons & Dragons Club

Don’t have time for a proper campaign? Or maybe you’re interested in learning more about how to play? Our professional dungeon master will be on hand on Tuesdays, December 13 and 27 at 5:00 pm. If possible, please bring a fifth edition third-level character sheet. Pre-generated characters will also be available for you to use. All ages are invited. This program is free to attend and no registration is required – just stop on in!
