StoryWalk Arrives at Pilliod Park

Submitted by Leanna Chappell on

Swanton Public Library, in collaboration with the Swanton Village Council, is proud to announce the inaugural StoryWalk at Pilliod Park, a Village of Swanton park. To celebrate this initiative and in conjunction of National Library Week 2017, the Library and Village Council would like to invite everyone to join us as we kick off the inaugural StoryWalk with an Easter Egg Hunt on Wednesday April 12, 2017 at 4:15 p.m.

StoryWalk is a wonderful way for adults and their children to combine literacy skills and healthy exercise as they walk around the path to each of the 20 reading stations while enjoying the beauty of Pilliod Park. StoryWalk is a free activity for all and is accessible during normal park hours. Bring your walking shoes, your reading glasses, and enjoy StoryWalk at Pilliod Park!

The first installment of StoryWalk at Pilliod Park features My Nose, Your Nose by author Melanie Walsh. Many thanks to Swanton Welding for the donation of the reading posts, Fessenden Hardware for the numbers, and for the Village of Swanton Public Service Division for installing them.

The StoryWalk Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition (VBPC) and the Kellogg Hubbard Library.
