Hello, everyone!
Due to community shutdowns and concerns over the spread of COVID-19, the Swanton Public Library will be closed to the public until further notice starting Saturday, March 14th. We are ending our Sunday hours early as well.
However, the librarians will still be on hand to help you with questions via our Facebook, Instagram, and over the phone during our normal opening hours. Our digital offerings through our webpage, as well as the Ohio Digital Library, are also still available.
Our staff is working on a plan to allow people to request items for pickup. You can go on our website to request books, call in, or request on one of our social media pages. We will have items ready for pickup at a designated time. We hope to have this squared away by Monday, March 16. We understand that people would like entertainment during this time and are trying to be accommodating as possible.
Items may be returned in the drop box; books will then go into quarantine for 3 days. Movies and hotspots will be disinfected and available as soon as possible. However, we are also checking items out to patrons for a month; this excludes hotspots which are in even more demand at the moment. No fines will be levied during this time.
We will also have our wifi on; it reaches to Pilliod Park, so feel free to use our parking lot for internet uses.
Please check our Facebook page for more updates as the situation progresses.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. We are doing all that we can to help keep our community safe!
