WHAT IS CAMP IN A BOX?
Join us at the library this summer for Camp in a Box! We will explore nature, science, art, and more during weeklong programs held daily at 2:00 pm. Each camp includes stories, videos, crafts, activities, games, and so much more! Participants will be engaged in all sorts of hands-on activities and encouraged to do more activities at home to win prizes.
There are three camps to choose from! Each participant will receive a button for each day of a camp program they attend. Earn five buttons for one camp, for up to 15 buttons. Participants can do 1, 2, or all 3 camps!
Parents are welcome to join but not required to attend. However, we request that a responsible adult stay on library property for the duration of the program. We do understand that 5th graders may be permitted by guardians to come to the library on their own for programs. We just request that a responsible adult registers them and leaves a good contact number.
HOW TO REGISTER
Registrations are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please register for your designated age group. Groups are divided into kindergarten (at least age 6), 1st, and 2nd graders together and 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders together. You can base this off of what grade you just finished OR are going into. Sign up yourself or with friends in groups up to 5. Remember, when you register, you are registering for the whole week of that camp, Monday-Friday @ 2:00 pm. 20 spots are available per age group, for a total of 40 registrants. WEEK ONE: June 10-14
- Gr K-2: "Nature Camp" Explore water, mimic how birds eat, make crafts like a bird feeder and sculpted canvas!
- Gr 3-5: "Wild for Ohio Camp" Includes everything from animal habitats to Ohio State seals and so much in between. Learn how animals adapt and about prey vs. predators while playing games and doing activities like creating your own imaginary animal.
WEEK TWO: June 24-28
- Gr K-2: "What's Your Superpower? Camp" Do activities like design your own superhero and crafts like making a mask and creating your own comic!
- Gr 3-5: "Solar System Camp" Do you love space?! Explore the solar system in this camp and learn about the planets, the moon, and more through activities like making a solar system keychain, building your own satellite, and performing workstation tasks like astronauts do.
WEEK THREE: July 15-19
- Gr K-2: "Be Creative Camp" If you love art and music, this camp is for you! Glue, markers, scissors, this is going to be fun! We will make our own instruments, and create our own art using shapes like famous artists.
- Gr 3-5: "Math is Art Camp" Do you want to build your own robot? How about a mythological clay relief creature? Printmaking? Do all of this and more at this camp!
