Lights On Afterschool Party

Join us at the library at 4:30 pm on Thursday, October 24 for the 25th anniversary of the Lights On Afterschool event! To celebrate, we’ll have games, crafts, snacks, and more – all with a spooky theme. Launched in 2000 and organized by Afterschool Alliance, Lights On Afterschool is the only nationwide event celebrating afterschool programs and their important role in the lives of children, families, and communities.

All ages are invited to join us at 1:00 pm on Monday, September 23 for a show & tell! Bring one of your treasures with you to show off: it could be your favorite stuffie, a souvenir from a trip, your best artwork, a fun book  – whatever you want to share! Craft and snack time to follow. No registration necessary!

Yoga for Kids

Yoga for Kids

Local yoga enthusiast Shauna Gilsdorf and her therapy dog Grace will be here on Wednesday, September 18 at 4:30 pm to walk kids through the basics of yoga – with a friendly dog to help! Yoga mats and other equipment will provided; just make sure you wear something comfortable! Any age can participate. Shauna and Grace will also be here at storytime on September 10.

International Dot Day Party for Kids

This year is the 15th anniversary of International Dot Day, which celebrates creativity and inspiration as shown in Peter H. Reynolds’s book The Dot. During September, all ages can take home a dot to decorate. Use crayons, chalk, markers, colored pencils, collage, construction paper, clay, paint, buttons, noodles, leaves... the possibilities are endless!!! Participants will have their dots put on display in the library and be entered to win a GIANT stuffed animal!
