Book Club is back! All readers are invited to Marty Kaback’s book club at 5:30 pm on Thursday, January 13, to discuss A Conspiracy of Bones by Kathy Reichs. “It’s sweltering in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Temperance Brennan, still recovering from neurosurgery following an aneurysm, is battling nightmares, migraines, and what she thinks might be hallucinations when she receives a series of mysterious text messages, each containing a new picture of a corpse that is missing its face and hands... An identified corpse soon turns up, only partly answering her questions.
Janet Amid is returning to SPL! From 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 11, Toledo’s favorite astrologer will talk to us about astrology, dreams, and her own predictions for 2022. Five audience members will also receive a ‘mini astrological profile’; birthdays and time of birth are needed for these! This program is free, but registration is required.
Cardmaking returns! Teacher Anna Geis will be here to show participants how to make three different cards, all with a Valentine’s Day theme. Class fee is $7/person for three cards; all supplies are provided. This class is scheduled for Thursday, January 20 at 5:00 pm. To participate, call, stop in, or register through our website. Please note that your final result may differ from examples.
Online Book Club: Pick up a book packet, read the book, and either join the online discussion on the library’s Facebook beginning December 21 or return the book review sheet to the library. December’s choice is the satirical novel Ella Minnow Pea: A Progressively Lipogrammatic Epistolary Fable by Mark Dunn. Call or register on our website to participate. Books can be picked up at the front desk or via curbside service.
