Why should the kids have all the fun? At 6:00 pm on Thursday, January 25, adults (and older teens) are invited to enjoy anime that’s more at their level –  and popcorn! This month step into the strange world of Death Parade, where participants play games with high stakes; they cannot leave until the game is over, and when it is, their life may be too.

Join us to sit back, relax, and enjoy a good film and good snacks, including movie theater-style popcorn! All ages are invited to the library on Wednesday, January 24 at 6:00 pm for the classic comedy fantasy The Princess Bride. A bedridden boy’s grandfather reads him the story of a farmgirl-turned-princess who encounters numerous obstacles in her quest to be reunited with her true love.

This month the group is taking on the sci-fi psychological thriller Donnie Darko on Monday, January 22 at 5:00 pm. Anyone interested is welcome to join the club. “Donnie is a bright and charming high school student who also happens to be frequented by Frank; a monstrous six-foot rabbit that only he can see.” No registration is required.

Cardmaking returns! Teacher Anna Geis will be here on Thursday, January 18 at 5:30 pm to show participants how to make three different cards with a love theme, including a wedding card. Class fee is $7/person; all supplies are provided. Please call or register online by January 16! Note that final results may not match the samples provided.

Who doesn’t love a good game of Bingo? Grab your friends and join us at the library on Wednesday, January 17 at 6:00 pm for a night of good old-fashioned Bingo! Prizes are definitely included; come ready to have fun and maybe win! Light refreshments will be provided. No need to register; just show up ready for a good time!

Join Marty Kaback and our local book club on Thursday, January 11 at 5:30 pm to discuss the novel Dreamland by Nicholas Sparks. “When Colby Mills sees his dreams of a music career derailed by tragedy, he becomes the head of a small family farm in North Carolina. There he finds a new love interest, Morgan Lee, an aspiring musician who hopes to someday move to Nashville and become a star. Romantically, she and Colby complete each other in a way that neither has ever known. Hundreds of miles away, Beverly is fleeing an abusive husband with her six-year-old son.

Join Toledo Metroparks naturalist and local cyclist Larry Lindsay as he recounts his adventures biking across the entire United States – and the things he learned along the way. Larry will also talk about his work with the Metroparks and the natural beauty of the country. All ages are welcome to join Larry at either 3:30 pm or 6:30 pm on Thursday, January 11.
