Cardmaking classes are back! Teacher Anna Geis will be here between 5:00 pm and 6:30 pm to show people how to make three cards. Call or register on the library’s website to meet one-on-one with Anna, who will help you cut out and stamp the pieces of the cards; you then take your ‘kit’ to fully assemble at home. One person per time slot, please. Class fee is $6 per person; all supplies are provided.
It’s difficult to meet in person right now, but SPL has thought of a way to help keep your mind active while we’re all social distancing: an at-home Book Club! Register for a spot (eight spots are open each month), and the next time you can stop by the library, you’ll be given a book and packet to keep. You can then join in via the SPL Adult Book Club on the library’s Facebook and discuss it with us from the comfort of your own home! This month our discussion will be open February 16-17. The Toledo Northwestern Ohio Food Bank will distribute food boxes at the library between 10:00 am and noon on Wednesday, January 13. Registration is required; call 419-242-5000 ext. 204 or visit https://www.toledofoodbank.org/event/january-13th-food-box-distribution-swanton-public-library/to secure a spot. This is a drive-up no-contact distribution; food will be loaded into the trunks of participating vehicles.
